Yemen: Olona miisa 40 no namoy ny ainy tamin'ny oram-batravatra

(Marihina fa tamin'ny 25 Oktobra 2008 no nivoahan'ny lahatsoratra teny Anglisy)

Olona maherin'ny 40 no namoy ny ainy ary 30 eo ho eo no tsy hita tany Yemen rehefa avy namely an'i Hadhramout ny oram-be.

Mitatitra antsika ny tantara i Omar Barsawad raha nanoratra tao amin'ny Moments In Words From Hadhramout .

Traveling in and around Hadhramout is not safe and can be dangerous, at the moment. For the last three days, it has been raining continuously in most parts of Hadhramout, Mahra and Shabwa; at times, the rain is heavy but for the most part, it's continuously drizzling. This is no good at all.

Tsy azo antoka ary mety hampidi-doza ny fitsangatsanganana ao Hadhramout sy ny manodidina, amin'izao fotoana izao. Nandritra ny telo andro, nirotsaka tsy nisy fitsaharany ny orana tany amin'ny ankamaroan'ny faritra ao Hadhramout, Mahra ary Shabwa; Mikija ny orana indraindray saingy manerika tsy misy fijanonany matetika amin'ny ankapobeny. Tena tsy tsara mihitsy izany.

Amin'ny fombanay Arabo, mankalaza ny orana izahay- fitahiana avy amin'Andriamanitra. Manazava i Barsawad:

People, especially Bedouins, celebrate when it rains; as that means water. Water: which in such a dry place like here, is so precious and a luxury to many. But when it rains this heavily and so continuously, it causes only problems; sometimes causing extensive damage and many times – it takes lives.

Manao fankalazana ny olona, indrindra ny Bedouins, rehefa avy ny orana satria midika hoe rano izany. Rano: izay ho an'ny toerana maina toy ny eto dia sarobidy sy hireharehana ho an'ny maro. Saingy miteraka olana indray ny orana rehefa mikija sy tsy mijanona ; miteraka fahavoazana goavana indraindray ary matetika hamoizana aina.

Hoy koa izy nanampy:

With the earth here not that porous, torrents of floods are now sweeping in several places; as of today: several bridges, houses cultivated lands – have been swept away by the floods. Many roads are now impassable; including the main road from Al Mukalla to the Wady, inland. Within the Wady itself, many villages and towns have now been cut off from each other by flooded or swept away roads. As the rains are forecast to continue for the next few days, there will undoubtedly be more destruction; very hopefully, no lives will be lost.

Eto amin'ity tany ity izay tsy mahatan-drano, mamely ny toerana maromaro ny tondra-drano vokatry ny orambe ankehitriny; toy ny androany: nentin'ny tondra-drano ny tetezana maro, ny trano, ny tanimboly. Làlana maro no tsy azo aleha; anisan'izany ny làlambe lehibe indrindra avy any Al Mukalla mankany Wady, ao anatin'ny firenena. Ao Wady ohatra, tapaka ny lalana mampitohy ny tanànakely sy tanàndehibe maro noho ny tondra-drano na noho ny lalana nentin'ny rano. Koa satria mbola hitohy ny orana ao anatin'ny andro vitsivitsy araka ny fanombanana toetrandro dia tsy isalasalana fa hisy ny faharavana bebe kokoa; Antenaina fa tsy hisy intsony ny famoizana aina.

Nampalahelo anefa fa tsy izany no nitranga fa olona maro no namoy ny ainy. Araka ny voalazan'ny Reuters:

Floods killed 41 people and around 31 are missing in Yemen after torrential rain left swathes of the impoverished country under water, President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Saturday.

Around 1,700 homes have been destroyed, he said, displacing hundreds of families in the floods that swept the southeastern provinces of Hadramout and Mahra following 30 hours of heavy rainfall.

Nahafatesan'olona miisa 41 ny tondra-drano ary manodidina ny 31 no tsy hita tao Yemen rehefa namela ny firenena mahantra tao anaty rano ny oram-batravatra, hoy ny filoha Ali Abdullah Saleh tamin'ny Asabotsy.

Rava ny trano manodidina ny 1.700, hoy izy, nafindra toerana ny fianakaviana an-jatony tao anaty tondra-drano izay nanafotra ny faritany atsimo-atsinanan'i Hadramout sy Mahra taorian'ny oram-batravatra naharitra 30 ora.

Nampitandrina ny olona mandehandeha any amin'ny faritra i Barsawad ary nilaza hoe:

Any one traveling around, must take extreme care. It's very easy to be swept away by floods; most people who lose their lives from floods, are those who are ignorant about what it can do here, or those who are reckless. It's most advisable to listen to what elderly locals say; they know best. Wherever one is, if the locals advise against traveling further or in a certain direction, it's best and safe to listen. Never cross any flooded road however still the water seems or safe it looks – unless many people are already crossing that road. Never park or stay long in a valley; try to keep on upper grounds.

Izay rehetra mivezivezy ao amin'ny manodidina ny faritra dia tokony hitandrina fatratra. Tena mora ny lasan'ny tondra-drano; ny ankamaroan'ny olona izay namoy ny ainy noho ny tondra-drano dia ireo izay tsy mahalala ny loza mety haterany, na ireo izay tsy miraika . Tena soso-kevitra tsara ny mihaino izay lazain'ny zokiolona ao an-toerana; mahalala tsara momba izany izy ireo. Na aiza na aiza misy anao, raha manoro hevitra anao ny mponina ao an-toerana mba tsy handeha lavitra kokoa na tsy handeha any amin'ny lalana sasany izay atorony dia tsara sy azo antoka ny mihaino izany. Aza miampita na oviana na oviana eny amin'ny arabe dibo-drano na dia toa jerena milamina sy tsy mampidi-doza aza ny rano raha tsy hoe angaha efa maro ny olona niampita an'izany lalana izany. Aza mitsangatsangana na mijanona ela any amin'ny lohasaha; Miezaha mijanona eny amin'ny toerana avo kokoa.

Tao amin'ny mailaka iray ho an'ny Global Voices, nanoratra i Barsawad hoe:

There's no electricity or piped running water in most of Al Mukalla; and the Internet is very slow and shuts down most of the time – from late Wednesday to yesterday, I didn't have any Internet connection. For me to write that last post, I had to do so on Word and then quickly copy and paste in my blog and get all the links done within minutes.

This morning the sun is shining brightly, and Insha Allah (by the will of God) water will dry up. The biggest problem now here, is in Wady Hadhramout (where there are now thousands of people who have fled their homes – including my relatives. I am afraid when all is finally assessed the damage will be huge and the death toll will rise. As you know, most houses in Wady Hadhramout are built of mud – with the heavy rain, floods and pools of standing water, many houses are simply melting down; and as the villages and towns are cut off from each other, supplies like vegetables and other essentials becomes a problem too (as most shops are closed). Anyway with the President here now, I am sure all will be done swiftly to get things back to normal.

Tsy misy herinaratra na rano mandeha ao amin'ny ankamaroan'ny faritra ao Al Mukalla; ary tena miadana ny Aterineto ary matetika izany no tapaka – nanomboka hatramin'ny alarobia hariva ka hatramin'ny omaly, tsy nanana fifandraisana aterineto aho. Raha nanoratra ity lahatsoratra farany ity aho dia tsy maintsy nanao izany tao amin'ny Word ary avy eo dia nandika sy nametaka izany haingana tao amin'ny bilaogiko sy naka ny rohy rehetra tao anatin'ny minitra vitsy.

Mibaliaka ny masoandro amin'izao maraina izao ary Insha Allah (raha sitrapon'Andriamanitra) dia ho maina ny tany. Ao Wady Hadhramout izay misy ireo olona an'arivony nitsoaka ny tranony no misy olana lehibe indrindra amin'izao fotoana izao- anisan'izany ireo havako. Manahy aho fa ho henjana ny fahasimbana ary hitombo ny isan'ny maty rehefa vita ny fanamarinana. Araka ny fantatrareo fa naorina tamin'ny fotaka ny trano maro ao Wady Hadhramout – trano maro no nirodana fotsiny niaraka tamin'ny oram-batravatra, ny tondra-drano sy ny rano miandrona, ary koa satria tapaka ny lalana mampitohy ny tanànakely sy ny tanàndehibe, dia lasa olana ihany koa (satria mihidy ny ankamaroan'ny fivarotana) ny famatsiana toy ny legioma sy ny zavatra hafa ilaina. Na izany aza rehefa tonga eto ny filoham-pirenena amin'izao fotoana izao dia mino aho fa ho vita haingana ny zava-drehetra mba hamerenana amin'ny laoniny ny fiainana ho amin'ny ara-dalàna.

Mivavaka ho an'ireo namana ao Hadhramout izahay amin'ity fotoan-tsarotra ity.
